![]() ![]() ![]() At the top of the home page come three points of fundamental significance to purposeful living; Be calm and controlled Walk peaceful ways Find peace Make life a success I can not state with 100% certainty that these three points would make a person's life successful. But with about 90% confidence, these three guidelines can take a person to peaceful and successful life. (Only about 90% certainty, because, (1) life is popularly talked about as simple, complex, easy, difficult, hard, joyful, short, long, painful, purposeless and whatnot; (2) "life is too complicated not to be orderly", Martha Stewart; (3) "life is like a ten-speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use", Charles M. Schulz; etc.). See quotations on life and living also. Take the first guideline. A calm and controlled mind or 'state of mind' is difficult to get, especially for speeding, stressed, straining or struggling persons. A person 'in-action' could always be 'in-strain' to various levels. But he/she can be steady and 'in-control' if the person has learned and experienced the works and activities. So 'learning' and 'experience' bring in control and/or calmness. If a person is 'composed' in mind with calmness, he/she is 'calm-posed' or peaceful, at least contextually. Extending it further, if all activities, all the time, are carried out with sufficient learning and experience, then that person can be peaceful all the time. WHAT IS LIFE'S ULTIMATE PURPOSE? Is it not peace? To my thinking, if peace is achieved, not wealth, fame etc., life becomes a success. Pursuits of wealth, fame, happiness etc. can 'pave' the roads to peace, if they are carried out with honesty and relevant values. |
